4/27/2006 11:19 PM:  Sorry but another post for today...

GibbsUSA.net smilie: sad I read this article some time ago now, but I have been swamped with questions about the WM5 speed and performance and the "hacks" that have been posted on several web sites that claim to improve WM5 speed.

All I am going to do is point you all to the following article by Mike Calligaro:

4/27/2006 10:59 PM:  Sprite Backup and MemMaid...

GibbsUSA.net smilie: confusedA while ago, I was wondering where my memory is going with my MDA device and I came across a nice piece of software called MemMaid. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is interested in both monitoring or cleaning the memory used on their Pocket PC device!

Another piece of software that I have come to rely on over the years is Sprite Backup. Their new release for WM5 (v5.1) supports upgrading over different ROMs so is definitely worth the investment if, like me, you cannot be bothered reinstalling all of those applications! 4/27/2006 8:07 AM:  Beta Versions: ActiveSync 4.2 Beta and .NET Compact Framework 2.0 SP1

[QUOTE: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync42.mspx]
ActiveSync 4.2 Beta Preview is an early look at the latest sync software release for Windows Mobile devices.
Microsoft ActiveSync provides a great synchronization experience with Windows powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook right out of the box. ActiveSync acts as the gateway between your Windows powered PC and Windows Mobile powered device, enabling the transfer of Outlook information, Office documents, pictures, music, videos and applications from your desktop to your device. In addition to synchronizing with a desktop PC, ActiveSync can synchronize directly with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 so that you can keep your e-mail, Calendar, Notes, and Contacts updated wirelessly when you’re away from your PC.

GibbsUSA.net smilie: confused Does anyone actually know what this fixes??? Download it here...at your own risk!!! GibbsUSA.net smilie: confused

At the same time, the .NET Compact Framework Version 2.0 SP1 Beta Package becomes available...

GibbsUSA.net smilie: confused Is Microsoft finally getting their act together???? GibbsUSA.net smilie: angel

4/16/2006 6:33 PM:  Do NOT buy...false advertising!

GibbsUSA.net smilie: grumpy Do not buy the 3-in-1 stylus for the K-Jam from Pocket Solutions!

What you get is the same as the normal stylus only overpriced by about $5 per unit, there is no 3-in-1 (i.e. no pen)- and they don't return emails! GibbsUSA.net smilie: irked

4/16/2006 1:38 PM:  Soccer results anyone???

GibbsUSA.net smilie: smile I found a nice freebie for tracking soccer league results. It has internet update capabilities so you don't need to enter all the results and I noticed that the world cup tables are available to download...

Kudos to the developer!!! GibbsUSA.net smilie: coolguy
