 After 8 years, I still cannot get over the fact that to a British person with American children the 4th July has to have a big part of our holiday planning...there has to be something warped there...
Nevertheless, the holiday is a great time for family and friends- we had a great time today, cooking, drinking and generally relaxing out of a working atmosphere! 
I suppose that when we become American citizens (which we intend to do), it may change a little but for now, it still feels a little weird! 
To all those that have no idea what I am talking about, happy holidays and be safe with the fireworks!
