Kudos to my wife, Michaela who this week started the mammoth task of organizing contractors and builders remodeling our bathroom.
She has been planning this work for weeks and I’m sure that everything will work out- but I have to give her special credit for putting up with me moaning about timelines and costs…typical of me...
All this on top of looking after Leia teething, Hannah’s occasional temper tantrums and additional things that are too numerous to mention...
I’m a lucky man !

| | 7/13/2005 2:50 PM: | | Pakistan train disaster and Kurbi massacre
While the western world focuses on the recent events in London, I must say something about the rail disaster that occurred in Pakistan and the unrest in Turbi, Kenya. Although over 50 of my fellow countrymen lost their lives on 7/7, more than 130 died today in a rail disaster and 22 children were killed in civil unrest on Tuesday.
One day, for humanities future, we will all work together to make the world a better place and provide those less fortunate with the tools to live better lives...one day...(not in my lifetime I think)...
Our thoughts are with those hurt or killed in the train wreck and those in the African village!!!

| | 7/12/2005 2:08 PM: | | ICE - In Case of Emergency
With all the disasters etc. that are going on in the world, I came across a nice idea from the UK (specifically, Bob Brotchie, a clinical team leader for the East Anglian Ambulance NHS Trust- Kudos to you!).
His thoughts are to have people enter contact information on their mobile phones prefixed with the word "ICE". For example, "ICE - David Smith" as a phonebook entry (with the phone number of course), basically means "In Case of an Emergency, and you find my phone, dial David Smith."
I like the idea and thought it worth a mention. Spread the word and make this an unwritten standard!

| | 7/7/2005 7:30 AM: | | Terrorist attack in London
I am not a religious person. I do not condone or believe in any specific theology- but prefer science.
That said, I find it hard to comprehend how anyone, in the name of any religion can approve of the mass killing of innocent people going about their daily lives. While the London attack brings this home to me and my family, even in Iraq these so called people are happy to kill their own!
I hope and pray that the British resolve that got us through the German bombings in WWII and the Irish terrorism in the 1980’s and 90’s etc. stands firm and makes us a stronger nation.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those injured and killed in today’s atrocity!
