6/13/2006 12:47 PM: Windows Mobile 5 all day alarms going off at midnight!

GibbsUSA.net smilie: mad I was getting annoyed at having my all-day alarms go off at midnight so I decided to do some more investigation. WM2002 and 2003 always went off at the default Outlook time!

Turns out that a "feature" of WM5 is that it strictly adheres to the Outlook object model...so if your alarm is set to go 2 days before the event, it will activate- but at MIDNIGHT. GibbsUSA.net smilie: angry

What was the solution? Well, Outlook supports "hours" so if you have, for example, a birthday that you want reminding 2 weeks before, DO NOT USE 2 WEEKS- this will trigger at midnight. Instead, use hours...basically 2 weeks in hours less whatever time you want it to activate- so if you want 8:00am reminders, use the following to set the reminder (2 x 7 x 24)-8 = 328 hours.GibbsUSA.net smilie: smile

This has stopped me having many rude awakenings at 12:00 AM !!! GibbsUSA.net smilie: zzz
