4/5/2007 12:56 PM: Yet another gadget- GPS!!!

GibbsUSA.net smilie: grin We are going on a trip shortly which has made me think a lot about the GPS devices in newer vehicles/ hire cars...so...I bought one!

I purchased the Globalsat BT338 after going through MANY reviews and I have to say I am impressed so far. It connected without issue to my PC's and laptops (with bluetooth). Then came the Pocket PC...

Apparently WM5 has something different and some mobile carriers decided to "hide" the GPS setting icon...here is how to fix that! GibbsUSA.net smilie: wink

On the device, edit the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings

Delete the DWORD marked Hide (if present)
Delete the DWORD marked Redirect (if present)
Add a DWORD called Group and give it a value of 2
Soft reset the device.

The GPS icon should then be available...Enjoy!!! GibbsUSA.net smilie: coolguy
